Yoga

The meaning of the word yoga is to unite, to bring together. When we talk about yoga, we talk about the union of body and soul, breath and movement, the self and the world.
People have been practicing yoga, based on profound physical and spiritual knowledge, for 5000 years, but it is still as up-to-date as it was when it began.
According to the Hatha Yoga (Ha means Sun, Tha means Moon), the body is our "vehicle", the carrier of the soul. In order to enjoy an aware, healthy and peaceful life, we perfect the body and fill it with prana (life force).
Unlike other forms of sport, yoga works gently yet deeply on your body. When performed properly, the asanas work on the nerves, glands, inner organs and muscles and help you to keep fit, healthy, strong and flexible. Yoga helps you minimize and even avoid backaches, digestion problems, alignment problems and much more. It brings ”steady posture, health and lightness of body.”
Breathing is our most fundamental and vital act, it is life itself. That is why breathing is the heart of the method, and is linked with awareness of the movements, the asanas. Using breathing techniques that create heat in the body and purify the muscles and organs, unwanted toxins are expelled and the nervous system is strengthened. Other breathing techniques that calm the body help to create balance, harmony, peace of mind and true rest for the whole person.
During the class, you will be truly challenged without being competitive. Yoga encourages us to turn our attention inward and to look deeply into our body, mind and soul. By "opening" your body, you will come to open your heart and mind as well, while experiencing overall ease and comfort, enjoying a strong and flexible body, and gaining a wonderful chance to live a longer, healthier, and happier life
