During the nine months of pregnancy,
profound changes take place in all aspects of your body.
Emotional adjustments, physical changes and more are all
part of the process of becoming a parent. Working
consciously with your body and mind will help you to through
this unique period in the most balanced, aware and healthy
way. The class will be adapted to each woman's special
needs, using postures, breathing techniques, deep relaxation
and more.
Yoga asana (postures):
While pregnant, traditional postures are modified for the
safety and comfort of the pregnant woman and her baby. These
graceful and simple movements can be practiced throughout
pregnancy to improve coordination and balance. The postures
work gently on the reproductive organs and pelvic area,
ensuring an optimum supply of blood and nutrients to the
developing baby and helping you to have a smoother delivery.
Pranayama (Breathing) – These powerful techniques ensure a
supply of oxygen and a better life force (prana) for you and
your child. The techniques will help you remain calm,
relaxed and in control during pregnancy and labor.
Mudras and Bandhas – The stimulation of these gestures and
locks has powerful effects on the woman’s reproductive
organs. (i.e. Mula Bandha helps you to strengthen the pelvic
floor, one of the most important exercises during
pregnancy).
Meditation – will provide you time with yourself and your
baby by turning your attention inward and helping you to
face the natural and normal fears and conflicts which are so
common during pregnancy.
Deep Relaxation - is particularly effective during pregnancy
for physical and mental relaxation as well as for childbirth
preparation.
Prenatal yoga provides a program of safe, gentle, and
effective exercises.
You will be better able to avoid problems such as
overweight, stretch marks constipation, swelling and
backache, while experiencing a higher level of energy, less
fatigue, higher kinetic awareness, coordination, balance and
overall comfort.
As you create a new life, yoga will help you experience the
best possible pregnancy and delivery, whatever your health
or circumstances, and provide a positive environment right
from the start.
